Origin :- Latin, "deep sleep, lethargy," from PIE *swep-os-, suffixed form of root *swep- (1) "to sleep" (see Somnus).
- As in stupor : noun daze, unconsciousness
- The convex presupposes the concave; and vam is related to vap (as somnus is related to hpnos, to svapnas, and to sopor).
